Re: Proposed Amendments to the Official Plan and Zoning By-law 36-46 King Street West
I am writing to express our full support for the proposed redevelopment project in the City of Brockville, which entails the construction of a 9-storey mixed-use building. If approved, this development will undoubtedly contribute significantly to the growth and vitality of our community.
The project, as outlined, promises to bring a myriad of benefits to Brockville. With 2 floors dedicated to commercial space, totaling approximately 727.0 square meters, it provides ample opportunities for businesses to thrive and expand. The addition of 66 residential dwelling units on proposed floors 3 to 9 will inject new life into our downtown core. More residents mean more foot traffic, which, in turn, will enhance the vibrancy of our city center. Furthermore, the inclusion of rooftop amenity areas, 42 indoor parking spaces, and 20 bicycle storage spaces demonstrates a commitment to modern, sustainable urban living.
From the perspective of the Chamber of Commerce, we firmly believe that this development aligns with our goals of fostering a thriving business environment and enhancing the quality of life for our residents. The presence of more residents in the downtown area will create a stronger customer base for local businesses, leading to increased economic activity and growth. Additionally, it will contribute to the creation of a more inclusive and connected community, where residents can live, work, and play in close proximity.
In conclusion, we urge you to consider the immense benefits that this redevelopment project will bring to the City of Brockville. It represents a significant opportunity to revitalize our downtown core, attract new businesses, and create a more vibrant and sustainable community for current and future residents alike.
Thank you for your attention to this matter. If you require any further information or assistance, please do not hesitate to contact me.
